Woodwind Academy Group Lessons
Welcome to the Woodwind Academy at Improvisation Station!
This program provides affordable, focused teaching in woodwind pedagogy for those who may otherwise lack access.
You will need a comfortable, low-traffic, practice space (any room can work); a laptop or tablet; and a tablet stand or music stand (if using a tablet - just to make sure you're hands-free).
You will need to download the free Zoom app to your device.
You will be on mute during the Zoom call unless I ask you to play in front of the class.
Fall Semester 2026: GMEA/SCBDA Audition Prep
Semester Details
Schedule: The masterclass runs on Saturdays from September 5th through November 28th. A final schedule adjustment regarding holiday breaks (Halloween Saturday vs. Thanksgiving Break Saturday) will be coordinated directly with registered families during the first week of class.
Class Times:
9am - Clarinet
10am - Flute
11am - Saxophone
Parent/Guardian Attendance: Parents and guardians are welcome to quietly observe the Zoom classes with their child to help keep them on task and to gain understanding of practice expectations.
Billing & Cancellations: Tuition is billed automatically at $40/month for 3 months (September, October, and November). We do not offer prorated weeks or partial refunds. Cancellations will take effect starting the following billing month.
Wrap-Up Conference: On Saturday, December 5th, parents will be invited to a brief optional Zoom wrap-up meeting to share feedback and discuss their child's progress heading into auditions.
Privacy Considerations: Zoom lessons will be recorded and the videos will be placed in a Google Drive folder for you to either review topics or as a make up lesson if you had to miss a class. To protect your right to privacy, the class will be recorded in teacher-view - no views of the student gallery will be posted. If students are called on to play for the class, that portion will be omitted from the recording.
Registration Process
I'm giving you a lot of information, because knowledge is power, but if it's too much and you want to move forward, just scroll down and click the signup button for your instrument - you can always return to this page if you have questions.
Step 1 - Click your instrument's button below.
Step 2- You will be redirected to Stripe for secure payment. Your payment information will not be shared by Improvisation Station.
Step 3 - The email you give to Stripe will be used by Improvisation Station to keep you informed - make it a valid one, please. Your email will not be sold or shared.
Step 4 - Please download the free Zoom app to your device the day prior to class - it can take time to get it installed, which is not something you want to do on a Saturday morning!
Step 5 - Once registration closes (likely 5pm on the day prior to the first class), I'll send emails with Zoom links and login instructions.
